What is the Aspire Fellowship?
The Aspire Fellowship is:
A selective, 12-week research program that pairs motivated high school students with experienced PhD mentors for individualized, one-on-one guidance.
A structured research process, from idea development to a concrete outcome. Your student will have the choice between creating a publication-ready paper, or competition-ready materials (poster and oral presentation), all while they receive consistent mentorship, accountability, and feedback.
Designed for students who are ready to engage deeply with research, and for families seeking a rigorous, well-structured program led by credible mentors, not large cohorts or generic coursework.
Built and backed by PhDs at top institutions, experienced teachers, and previous ISEF champions.

The final deliverable is determined by the student, based on their goals and timeline. Options include:
A professional research paper (intended for submission to journals or preprint servers), or
Competition-ready materials, such as a research poster or oral presentation
Students focus on one primary deliverable to ensure depth and quality rather than splitting effort across multiple formats.
-
Yes. Aspire provides guidance and support for external submissions, including science fairs, conferences, and academic journals. If a student chooses to pursue publication, Aspire assists with:
Identifying appropriate journals or venues
Structuring and writing the paper according to guidelines
Preparing materials for submission
While publication or acceptance cannot be guaranteed (as decisions are made by external reviewers), Aspire provides the mentorship and resources needed to pursue these opportunities seriously.
